A huge multinational company and one of the three largest beer producers in the world, Heineken was established in Amsterdam in 1864. For more than a hundred years, Heineken’s premium quality beer was brewed in the very center of Amsterdam, untill 1988, when, due to the strong smell of beer spread over the district, its industrial facility was relocated to the outskirts of the city.
