Archaeological Site of Carmona

The Archaeological Site of Carmona is an impressive set of ruins and fortifications showing prehistoric human settlement and subsequent development into the present day. Here you will discover a significant part of an original Roman necropolis used during the first and second centuries CE as well as other indications of early urban life such as pottery, quarries and an amphitheater. The necropolis is particularly famous for its funeral enclosure housing two spectacular tombs - the Tomb of the Elephant and the Tomb of Servilia.
